Share the story of how you first crossed paths with your husband,
and take us on a journey through the different stages of your relationship that ultimately led to your marriage? “I often get asked about how I met my husband. Well, it all began when I was 23 years old, working as an NFL cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints.
Interestingly, he worked for the Saints at the time, and the connection was made through my mom and the team, along with plenty of social events and parties.
Although he wasn't my usual type, his smile left a lasting impression, and as we all know, chemistry is everything.
I've always believed in tossing aside those lists of what you think you want and instead going with your gut feeling.
So, here we are, 20 years later, with 16 years of marriage under our belt, soon to be 17.
It hasn't always been easy; we've faced separations and even filed for divorce once, especially after the birth of our daughter when things felt a bit shaky.
But marriage is a journey of highs and lows, and what I've learned is that as long as you wake up each day and choose each other, that's the secret to making it work.”
What are your top picks for MYKA gifts when it comes to surprising your husband, be it for Valentine's Day, birthdays, Valentine's Day, or anniversaries? “There are so many pieces at MYKA that I absolutely adore, and I think they make fantastic gifts to either receive from your partner or to give in your relationship.
For example, the paper clip chain is a versatile statement piece that works well throughout the year. You can consider it for birthdays or special occasions.
It's a simple yet elegant choice. For Valentine's Day, I lean towards the "Be My" bracelet – it's delicate, sweet, and subtly announces your taken status without being too overwhelming.
You can even pair it with matching earrings. I'm completely obsessed with the Sophia double ring; it's evident from my stackables.
It's a great addition to any collection, whether for an anniversary or to adorn the other hand.
There's just so much to love at MYKA, and these pieces allow you to layer up and make your special someone feel truly cherished.”
5 Red Flags on a first date Let's talk red flags on a first date. First, skip the interview mode – keep the conversation natural. Second, be yourself; trying too hard or looking drastically different isn't a good sign.
Number three, avoid assumptions; let the conversation reveal the truth.
And a piece of advice – be open and vulnerable, making the date worthwhile. Lastly, a real red flag is not following up; if you commit to something, do it.
Tips for Maintaining a Strong and Lasting Relationship The key to a long-lasting relationship is quite simple, really. First and foremost, choose your partner every day, and ensure that they choose you in return.
This mutual commitment is the foundation for a lifetime of love. However, it's essential to avoid toxic behaviors like abuse or infidelity; in such cases, it's crucial to move on.
Communication is vital, so show up for your partner consistently, just as you'd want them to do for you. Discover your partner's love language and love them accordingly, as you'd wish to be loved in return.
This creates a harmonious connection. Remember, it may require effort, but it's undoubtedly worth it. I'm a firm believer in love, and I hope you all cherish and nurture your love for one another.
