Do I need to match a name necklace length with a man's height for a gift?

I want to purchase some jewelry for my boyfriend this Christmas. He is 6'3 tall and has a large frame. I want to gift him a silver name necklace that he can wear daily. I don't know what size would suit him without looking out of place. Is it wise to make his name necklace the same length as his height?
